Описание
Perhaps one of Edward Elgar's most well-known piece of music, the second movement of Serenade for Strings in E Minor has become a staple of orchestra concerts across the globe. Though the Serenade was composed early in Elgar's career as a composer, it hints at the level of musical maturity Elgar would reach in his later years.
This arrangement features four distinct cello parts that each do their fair share of hard work. Before purchasing this, it should be noted that this arrangement is very difficult, and not meant by any means for inexperienced ensembles or musicians. Each part alternates between bass and tenor clef multiple times, with Cellos 1 and 4 going into treble clef. In addition, the highest note required to be played is a C above treble clef (Cello 1), though the second highest note required to be played is a C one octave below that (Cello 4)
This arrangement is part of the Concert Series. As such, more care has been taken to keep this arrangement as true to the source material as possible. As a result of this, some arrangements in the Concert Series can be very difficult. Any or all parts could go into tenor or treble clef, and notes can reach into the high ranges of the cello. Before purchasing tis arranement, please look at the score preview, listen to either a recording of the source material or the preview recording (if available), and take note of the difficulty rating to ensure that this arrangement is a suitable level for your ensemble.
